Members from Australia’s 313 Surf Clubs come together annually to compete in more than 400 beach and ocean events.
The Aussies is not simply Australia’s largest annual sporting competition. It is a whole lot more. From swimming to skis, from boards to boats, everything we do, every event in which we compete is there for a single purpose, to save lives on the beach.

SLSA will be hosting the following briefings inside the Officials marquee located south of North Kirra SLSC.
Clubs will be sent an invoice after each Early Bird/Normal/Late entry closing dates. Clubs MUST pay by one of the following methods by Friday 23 March2016. No other payment methods will be accepted.
Once an invoice has been generated, entry fees are non-refundable
Changes to already existing entries can occur up until Late Entries close (19 March 2016), via Carnival Manager. After this date, an admin fee of $7 per change to an already existing competitor can occur up until 4:00PM (AEST) the day before the race is scheduled to occur.
Late entries may be submitted at the Administration Centre at the Championships provided they are received no later than 4.00pm (AEST) the day before the race is scheduled to occur. The individual or team entries will be accepted as long as declarations of membership compliance with proficiency and patrol hour requirements and endorsements of Club, Branch and State Centres are provided.
However if an entire club does not submit entries before the late entry closing date (19 March 2016), the club needs to request permission to enter by directing a letter to the Competition Committee explaining the exceptional circumstances for late entry.
Each competitor must hold the award relevant to their entry and have completed a proficiency test for the award. The details of these requirements are detailed in SLSA’s Policy 5.4 – Proficiency and Patrol Hour Requirements – Competition Eligibility (available online at Members Portal > Library > Governance > Policy > SLSA > Policy 5.4)
NOTE: U14 age competitors do not need to fulfil patrol hours to be eligible to compete in the Youth Championships but must meet all other requirements of Policy 5.4
