Chief Executive Officer

Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA), an iconic Australian organisation, is a unique not-for-profit charity and community service that exists through community donations, fundraising, corporate sponsorship and government grants. It is Australia's major water safety, drowning prevention and rescue authority. SLSA create a safe environment on Australia's beaches and coastline through patrols, education and training, public safety campaigns and the promotion of health and fitness.

Reporting to the Board, this role presents an outstanding opportunity to lead a national organisation and strengthen the transformational changes that have occurred over the last two years.

Candidates must bring to the role a record of outstanding visionary and directional leadership, team development and considerable intellectual rigour. You will be empathetic, inspirational, have excellent strategic capability, commercial nous and exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build sound and effective stakeholder relationships. The position requires a credible spokesperson and respected communicator able to drive initiatives through to successful delivery.

In addition, your experience must include fundraising, working with volunteers, a sound understanding of the not-for-profit sector and contemporary corporate governance.

IT and Business Support Officer - Surf Life Saving Australia

We are looking for a customer service focused person with personality, initiative and experienced in first level support to join our IT Support team. This position is based at SLSA Head Office in Rosebery, and we are able to offer a five day week over a 7 day week fixed term contract position with flexible work arrangement opportunities.  

This position is primarily responsible for providing efficient phone and electronic support to people from Surf Life Saving Clubs, Branches and States who use National IT applications.

NOTE: The position is a business support based role, rather than technically based and ‘on the job’ IT training will be provided to the successful applicant as required.

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic team player with demonstrated customer service technical help desk experience along with the following skills and experiences:

  • Demonstrated technical phone and email service experience
  • Demonstrated call logging, use of a knowledgebase and computer skills
  • Experience of first level support and questioning skills
  • Eagerness to help and learn new systems – on the job training will be provided
  • Excellent administrative skills (computer, typing and report writing skills) and use of the MS Office suite of applications in an office networked environment.
  • Ability to work autonomously, use initiative and meet deadlines with strong prioritisation and time scheduling abilities.
  • Membership of a Surf Life Saving club and an understanding of Surf Life Saving is preferred but not essential
  • A flexible approach to weekend work and the option to work from home as agreed / suitable.

This position is initially a 1 year fixed term contract, with the potential to convert into a permanent position.

Workplace Giving Relationship Manager - Surf Life Saving Foundation (Sydney based position)

We are looking to employ an experienced relationship manager who has a can-do attitude, is optimistic and eternally vigilant and who can implement the SLS’s Workplace Giving strategy and contribute to the achievement of SLSF’s financial goals. 

Reporting to the Philanthropic Programs Manager (based in Brisbane), this position is responsible for strategically managing the major operational requirements of Workplace Giving Program including relationship management and maintenance of existing supporters as well as actively seeking and continually increasing levels of participation through targeted acquisition and sound stewardship.

This position will be based in Sydney at Surf Life Saving Australia’s National Office in Rosebery.
