General Manager - Capacity And Capability

Surf Life Saving in Australia has enjoyed continued success over 100 years both in growing its volunteer membership base and safety services on Australia's beaches to protect the Australian community. Surf Life Saving is one of Australia's most respected organisations and is recognised as a world leader in lifesaving, coastal public safety, rescue and education services.

Surf Life Saving is now re-positioning and integrating its business, commercial and fundraising capabilities into the one national organisation - Surf Life Saving Australia Limited. Through this integration SLSA has commenced implementing a substantial change plan focusing on corporate, governance and a restructure of the organisation.

Reporting to the CEO and based at SLSA's national headquarters at Rosebery in Sydney, NSW, this new position will be primarily responsible for:

·         Ensuring the quality of national public coastal safety education and operations, to save lives and build better communities.

·         Enhancing the participation, development and performance of athletes, coaches and officials through national sports operations and events

·         Managing the SLSA development programs covering member, youth, club development, member recognition and social inclusion

We are looking for a talented and self motivated person with a proven track record in:

·         Performing and shaping strategic direction in an executive management role, with experience in a federated, not for profit organisation and/or Emergency Management would be highly regarded.

·         Experience in negotiating with, sourcing and acquitting funding from government, plus experience in working with government at ministerial level is highly desirable.

·         Experience in the leadership and management of complex multi-disciplinary International/National sporting events

·         Ability to facilitate and foster collaboration and teamwork along with cultivating productive working relationships, facilitate and develop partnerships, value diversity and guide and develop people.

General Manager - Corporate Services

Through this integration SLSA has commenced implementing a substantial change plan focusing on corporate, governance and a restructure of the organisation.

Reporting to the CEO and based at SLSA's national headquarters at Rosebery in Sydney, NSW, this new position will be primarily responsible for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial related activities of SLSA and the wholly owned subsidiaries.

This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, corporate governance, legal, charity compliance and reporting, investment management, risk management, asset and property management, procurement, human resources and information technology.

We are looking for a talented and self motivated person with a proven track record in:

·         Performing and shaping strategic direction in an executive management role experience in a federated, not for profit organisation is highly regarded.

·         Experience in the management of complex financial arrangements, including the capacity to identify and manage financial risk, in a large member based, not for profit, charity

·         Senior management experience in managing corporate services functions and systems, including; strategic development and planning, financial accounting and budgeting, business analysis, compliance and risk management, asset and facilities management, information technology and human resources
