A huge congratulations to Brittany Elmslie (Noosa Heads) who was part of the women’s 4x100m Freestyle relay team that won Australia’s first Gold Medal early Sunday morning.  

A special mention to Cameron McEvoy (Northcliffe), part of the 4x100m Freestyle relay team who made it to the final where they finished 4^th behind France, USA and Russia.

We'd also like to give a special mention to Thomas Fraser Holmes (Manly/Northcliffe) who made the final of the 400m IM finishing 7^th.

Rod Chisholm (Bronte) who competed in the Men’s Rowing Lightweight Double finished 3^rd in the heat which means he will need to compete in the Repecharge to advance to the final. Richie Campbell (Bondi) and the Men’s Waterpolo team unfortunately did not get the start they wanted and went down to Italy 8-5. They play Kazakhstan on Tuesday night.

Thomas Fraser Holmes (Manly/Northcliffe) will be competing in his second final of the Games in the 200m Freestyle at 4.43am tomorrow morning (Tues 31/7). 

Nicole Zagame (Cronulla) and Alicia McCormack (Helensburgh Stanwell Park) start their 2012 Olympic campaign in the women’s water polo tonight when they take on Italy just after midnight at 12.30am (Tuesday 31/7).
