SLSA has been asked by the Australian High Commission in London to make enquiries about competent surf boat rowers who may be in London on Sunday 3 June, 2012 to participate in a 16km row as part of the Diamond Jubilee River Pageant.
The Diamond Jubilee Rower Pageant is likely to be the largest flotilla of boats assembled on the Thames in modern times with over a million people expected to line the banks of the river to view the event.
It is proposed that nine boats (and sweeps) from SLS Great Britain clubs will be used and decorated to represent Australia and each State and Territory.
Unfortunately there is no financial assistance available.
Members interested in participating in this event are invited to send an email to info@slsa.asn.au with your name, club, rowing experience and contact details by 17th February.
