With over 100 years experience in surf lifesaving and all aspects of beach safety, we have never been afraid to embrace new technologies where there is a clear benefit to beach-goers. With a growing stable of unique websites and applications, our organisation is at the forefront of a revolution in beach safety.
I.T. is at the centre of all of our daily operations. Managing member data, awards and patrol hours, providing up to the minute beach safety information, facilitating the myriad assets that are used in and around the beach and providing a framework for the management of all aspects of surf sports are all at the forefront of what we do.
In 2009, SLS embarked on an impressive project - one designed to free up the data that has been collated over the years and to use it to improve beach safety and to give our members and the public access to that data.
Through existing websites such as SurfGuard (the national membership and asset management database) and new sites such as Beachsafe (offering unprecedented levels of information on all 11,726 Australian beaches) SLS will meet you in the surf both on and offline.
