The Australian Surf Life Saving Championship Competition Committee has confirmed that the finals package for the event will be conducted on Saturday 21 April 2018 in light of poor weather conditions forecast for Sunday 22 April.
The weather is expected to deteriorate on Saturday, with strengthening winds up to 60km/hr, increasing rain activity of 15-20ml and challenging surf conditions. This leads to a significant risk that competition events would not be conducted.
We continue to monitor conditions, and consult with athletes, safety experts, team managers, Council, Police and Bureau of Meteorology (BOM).
March Past and any remaining events will be conducted on Sunday weather permitting.
We thank the athletes, team managers, Scarborough Surf Life Saving Club, City of Stirling, Police and BOM for their input, feedback and support of this decision.
