This year marks a significant milestone for BRP, proudly reaching 10-years as the official power craft supplier for Surf Life Saving Australia. Beginning in 2009, this national partnership has delivered over AU$4.8 million worth of essential lifesaving equipment to more than 160 Surf Life Saving Clubs, to help save lives across Australia’s beaches and our vast coastline.
With more than 300 million beach visitations annually, water safety is at the heart of this partnership. The BRP brands Can-Am, Sea-Doo and Evinrude are equipped and rescue ready at 250 Australian beaches. BRP products are engineered to be the most capable, reliable and high performing, allowing surf lifesavers to move around the beach and water quickly and effectively. This means patrols and rescues can be performed safely with greater efficiency and faster response times in the most challenging of situations which is best suited for the high standards Surf Life Saving Australia expects.
Adam Weir, CEO of Surf Life Saving Australia is delighted on the milestone around the Partnership with BRP. “As an organisation SLSA aims to form and maintain long term partnerships and we are very proud to be celebrating our 10th year partnering with BRP. The innovative technology BRP provides to the movement as a result of this partnership means that surf lifesavers are equipped with capable reliable and high performing lifesaving equipment allowing them to respond rapidly and effectively across the challenging Australian coastline to protect and save lives”. Mr Weir comments that “Surf Life Saving exists to save lives, create great Australians and build better communities and BRP helps to support this mission.”
Grégoire Dupont, Vice-President and Regional General Manager for BRP in the Asia Pacific region said, “We are very proud to celebrate our 10th Anniversary with the largest volunteer movement of its kind in Australia, Surf Life Saving Australia. People and innovation are part of our core values at BRP; our products are using the latest technologies in the industry, to ensure the safest experience under all conditions, especially those which are most demanding, like rescues. Our partnership with SLSA reinforces the commitment from BRP to support the community and to help in saving lives. We are proud to continue to work with Surf Life Saving Australia to make Australian beaches even safer.”
This year’s summer season will see BRP products clock up to 118,000 hours on the water and 141,000km on the sand. BRP, together with Surf Life Saving Australia are dedicated to continuing to bring volunteer surf lifesavers the most innovative technology and capable equipment to help in making Australian beaches safer.
