BRP is committed to helping save lives on Australian beaches and is doing so through the partnership with Surf Life Saving Australia.
Over the last eight years BRP has delivered almost AUD$2 million worth of essential lifesaving equipment to clubs around Australia, meaning more surf lifesavers are rescue-ready to save lives.
BRP products are essential lifesaving tools. They enable surf lifesavers and lifeguards to move around the beach and water effectively and quickly. This means patrols and rescues can be performed with greater efficiency and faster response times to save lives on the coast.
Vice-President and Regional General Manager for BRP in the Asia Pacific region Grégoire Dupont said: “As the largest volunteer movement of its kind in Australia, Surf Life Saving Australia is an excellent organisation for BRP to support. Our products offer the best performance under demanding conditions and are the most sensitive to the environment in the industry. This partnership reinforces BRP’s commitment to support the community and we are proud to continue to work with Surf Life Saving in its role of providing essential services so others can enjoy a day at the beach.”
BRP products are currently being used in over 250 SLS lifesaving services around Australia and include the;
- Can-Am Commander and Defender side-by-side all-terrain vehicles which allow lifesavers and lifeguards to patrol the beach and respond quickly to any rescues, emergencies and first aid treatments.
- Sea-Doo personal watercraft with on-water braking system (the first of its kind) enhances safety and maneuverability making BRP products the best suited to SLSA standards;
- Evinrude E-TEC engines with emission complied 2 stroke fuel injected outboards that use up to 50% less fuel with 30% more torque than current engines.
With product innovations like the first on-water braking system for a personal watercraft that enhances safety and maneuverability, and with engine technology that produces fewer emissions than any other outboard, BRP products fit in with SLSA’s role of looking after our beaches.
With the average yearly patrol season running from October to April, Can-Am vehicles will clock up 319,000 kilometres of hard sand work and the Sea-Doo watercraft and Evinrude outboards around 51,120 hours of water patrol.
These numbers are testament to the decision SLSA took back in 2009 to acquire BRP services with Can-Am, Sea-Doo and Evinrude E-TEC to help protect Australian beach goers. For more information on BRP products and their partnership with SLSA click here.
