At the 2019 Australian Surf Life Saving Championships, Life Saving Chaplaincy will be celebrating 21 years of service to the Life Saving community.
It was at the this same event back in 1998 that the then SLSA President, Alan Whelpton, AO, endorsed LSCA to be the official provider of Chaplains to Life Saving Clubs in Australia. Terry Legg started this movement by becoming the first LSCA Chaplain at his own club Southport SLSC, Main Beach, Gold Coast. Since then their Chaplains are now serving in more than 60 clubs around Australia, as well as in Royal Life Saving Society Australia clubs and more recently serving Life Saving communities internationally.
At 6.45am on Sunday 7 April they will have their regular Ecumenical Beach Service at Broadbeach SLSC.
