Ampol is proud of its new partnership with Surf Life Saving Australia, which sees the two iconic Australian brands join forces to help deliver safer beaches and to save lives. The partnership underpins Ampol’s commitment to being a positive contributor in the communities where it operates, and to use its scale, network and employee base to improve the lives of all Australians.
A number of Ampol employees are long-term surf lifesaving volunteers at their local clubs, and the company will also be activating the partnership through its retail network and broader infrastructure assets to promote surf safety messages and to support Surf Life Saving Australia’s important work.

Westpac has been proudly partnering with Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA) for more than four decades since the inception of the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Service in 1973. It is one of the longest corporate community partnerships in Australia.
The WLRHS is a vital extension of the SLSA’s front-line services and has performed more than 80,00 missions nationally, with no one ever having to pay to be rescued. Over 300 rescue professionals and volunteers make up the national operation, which has 17 helicopter and two rescue boats across 13 bases. During summer, the Service covers over 84% of the Australian population.
Westpac’s partnership with SLSA also extends to deliver Australia’s first comprehensive national approach to surf rescue using innovative drone technology – the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Drone program. The program enables 53 Westpac Life Saver Rescue Drones (WLSRD) to operate in every state in Australia, giving surf lifesavers more eyes in the sky to keep Australians safe at the beach.
Since 2009, BRP has been a proud National Partner of Surf Life Saving Australia, providing funding and rescue powercraft for affiliated clubs and services across the country. As the official powercraft supplier, BRP has delivered over $1 million worth of essential lifesaving equipment to over 160 Surf life Saving clubs. BRP products are powerful lifesaving tools and enable lifesavers to move around the beach and water quickly ensuring they are rescue ready and that performing rescues can be performed with greater efficiency.
Dulux proudly partners with Surf Life Saving Australia in the Dulux Weathershield Surf Club Project. This project enables every Surf Lifesaving Club in Australia to be painted with Dulux Weathershield. So whilst our Surf Lifesavers are out saving lives, Dulux is helping to ensure their surf clubs and club houses are protected from the harsh weather conditions. Celebrating over 9 years of the partnership in 2020, Dulux have painted over 220 clubs through this sponsorship. The Australian Government’s Department of Health provides funding to SLSA with the aim of reducing the impact and incidence of water related injury and death in Australia. This funding supports the organisation to achieve the targets of the Australian Water Safety Strategy.
Sport Australia provides SLSA with funding under the Sport Investment Framework for participation outcomes and funding for capability building initiatives. SLSA is committed to working with Sport Australia to enable more Australians to move more often, whilst delivering health, education and community impact.

The National Coronial Information System (NCIS) is an internet based data storage and retrieval system for Australian and New Zealand Coronial cases. The NCIS provides a valuable hazard identification and death prevention tool for coroners, government and researchers by providing the ability to review previous coronial cases, enhancing their capability to identify and recommend activities to reduce systematic hazards within the community.
