SLSA Launch Surf Studio
Surf Life Saving Australia is excited to this week launch “Surf Studio” – a regular online show with news and stories from across the country and all areas of the movement.
“Surf Life Saving is blessed with so many fascinating people and inspiring stories,” said SLSA President Graham Ford. “With many of us currently isolating at home as a result of COVID-19, the team at SLSA wanted to bring these stories to as many people as we can through this internet show, albeit via video calls, providing hope, sharing information and helping us all stay connected.
“However, Surf Studio is not just in response to COVID-19 it will continue to evolve as the nation gets back to normal over the coming months,” added Ford.
Club Members Jenny Parry (Maroochydore) and Grant Baldock (Bondi) are the inaugural hosts of the show that will showcase stories, clubs, initiatives and individuals within surf lifesaving.
Parry, a former Australian Lifesaving Team Captain and world champion said she hoped the show would provide insight and entertainment to the community, particularly in the present environment.
“Surf Life Saving is full of amazing people with such admirable and motivating stories. I feel very privileged to have the opportunity to speak to some of our inspiring members,” said Parry.
“I’m really looking forward to sharing some of these great stories via Surf Studio. I hope that these segments can celebrate our members and provide a little entertainment, particularly in these uncertain times”.
Surf Studio is a 30-minute online show that will begin on Friday, May 8 on www.sls.com.au/surf-studio/ with four stories from across the country each episode across a range of topic areas such as sport, lifesaving, leadership, education etc.
Surf Life Saving Australia encourages everyone to be involved, if you, or anyone you know has a story that you would like to share via Surf Studio please email surfstudio@slsa.asn.au
